Conquests of the Heart...

The naive Heart yearns to cry,
but the 'high' Head shoots back a 'Why?'
The Head brings facts to its front
knowing well, that it hates the truth blunt...

(The Head scornfully slides,)
"Who chose to wander about,
into alien lands' open mouth?
Who chose to enter unknown zones,
without arms,in your bare bones??"

Not a word came from the Heart,
for she agreed-she wasn't on guard...
How simple it was to complicate things
and brood over the disasters it brings...

(It came out with it's side...)
"Wander,I did... for it allured me-
and for good reasons-you've got to agree
It's not my fault if the woods sheltered
strangers that just before me had entered...

Perhaps,I do seek solace in woods afar,
rather than living in a cluster, like you are,
Alas! The woods are always pre-conquered!
But the bright side-I'm still a bird...

I make friends with the healthy woods,
so I can,to them,run in bad and in good;
who cares whether or not I conquer any!
so long as I have a shelter in many...

Infact I'm glad most are pre-owned,
for otherwise,Amity may not have shone-and
True... At times I yearn to cry;
but I do have my woods,for help,to fly(to)!

And lost?I'm not, for I find my way
back to the caged world of 'head say'
But if it weren't for you I'd never
have learnt to fly or to woods discover..."

My picks:
"How simple it was to complicate things" : Profound contradictions.

"Alas! The woods are always pre-conquered!
But the bright side-I'm still a bird..." : Flights of Optimism.

"who cares whether or not I conquer any!
so long as I have a shelter in many..." : Spirit of Life.

"But if it weren't for you I'd never
have learnt to fly or to woods discover..." : Revelations.

Good Work.I like it very much.

Lovely poem...esp the last lines..

And lost?I'm not, for I find my way
back to the caged world of 'head say'
But if it weren't for you I'd never
have learnt to fly or to woods discover..."

It also sounds very different from your other poems..

The head is "strong", and dislikes the heart for being weak and chides it for venturing into unknown dreams, but (un)knowingkly, it was the head that aided the heart in its(her) quest.

fact vs. fantasy... if I get it right.
